Want to get involved in theatre and acting? We have open auditions and shows on all year and welcome people regardless of acting experience. Our aim is to develop talent and support it as it grows!
Our Youth Theatre Company is the fastest growing part of the theatre group, helped by the many performing opportunities we afford to our youngsters across Northants. The performers come from all across the county, including Kettering, Corby, Wellingborough and Northampton.
We're always looking for new writers and playwrights to help us create new material in-house. C&D are committed to bringing new work to the local stage in additional to the contemporary & classic plays we've become known for.
An integral part of our theatre production teams are our backstage crew who provide support for our shows. They include tech, chaperones, costume makers, props, set creation and make-up.
Future-Proof is a work experience scheme led by Artistic Director Chris Lynch. It provides a platform for aspiring theatre-makers to take part in projects that the theatre company are running and ensures they gain exposure to various elements of production.

Get Involved

There are many ways of becoming involved with the theatre company, many of which are non-performing roles for those wanting to remain behind the scenes. Acting and performing are the main and most obvious way to become involved, however those wanting to volunteer their time can expect to find a variety of roles on offer in lighting, make-up, costume, prop and set creation.

We are very receptive to those wanting a creative role and we regularly talk with cast and the rest of the C&D family about future productions. We've got a great passion for supporting local playwrights and have a committement to develop and produce work devised or written local, to supplement our regular mainstream offerings.
